On the morning of February 9, 2023, 43-year-old Crystal McCrory Jones woke up feeling ill, so she scheduled a doctor’s appointment for the afternoon. She never showed up at that appointment. After repeated calls and texts went unanswered, her husband Tony called the West Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Chuck Harris was dispatched to perform a welfare check. When no one answered the door, Tony granted the deputy permission to enter. What he found inside would change everything.
Crystal was dead. A gunshot wound to the head—her life extinguished in an instant. But what was ruled a suicide by authorities within just 1 hour and 45 minutes, didn’t sit right with her family - especially her sister, Jana, who continues to fight for the truth of what happened to Crystal.
